We are a group of artists and citizens dedicated to raising awareness of the arts and the artistic process as well as integrating the arts into the community through education, events and economic development. We see art as a vital component to our lives and one that will also enrich our community.
JCAS's events have included special projects with our public schools, art installations that involved the whole community currently displayed at the Cranford Community Center, workshops, art classes, historical restoration, art tours and the now the annual Cranford Plein Air Event called “Paint the Town”.

This year's six-day plein air event is designed to provide a truly memorable experience for artists, art lovers and the entire region “Paint the Town” will give you and your family an opportunity to share in the artistic process. You'll get the chance to meet the participating artists, witness as everyday scenes are captured on canvas, and add to your personal collection. This year's event will be more expansive, providing artists not only painting opportunities in our local community but also two full days of painting in our greater region, making available such locations as Manhattan and the new Jersey shore. Come join us, and immerse yourself in this unique creative process, as we watch these artists demonstrate their talents in our parks, along the banks of our meandering river, in private gardens, and in our downtown business district. All of our events, from Paint the Town, to lectures, to classes and more are created to enhance our community through art.
